ekpmeasure (EKPY Fork)
ekpmeasure (formerly EKPY) is a project that holds a lot of history for me. During my undergrad, I began contributing to the original EKPY laboratory control software to help automate data acquisition for experimental physics setups.
As the requirements of our lab grew, I created my own dedicated fork, ekpmeasure, to implement new features, enhance stability, and introduce more robust equipment drivers. Maintaining this fork was a massive learning experience in software architecture, instrument communication, and hardware interfacing.
Eventually, I realized that to truly solve the "spaghetti code" problem in physics labs, the entire architecture needed to be re-envisioned from the ground up. This realization led me to retire my work on the ekpmeasure fork and start completely from scratch—ultimately leading to the foundation of PIEC.
Looking for the Future?
All modern development, standardization, and framework architecture has been moved to my new project, PIEC.
